Your construction site looks real dry. I take it you have to trailer this puppy some distance?
Any dimensions you can share?

Hi Wilbour
You`re right there !
I`m in South Australia. It is said to be the driest state on the driest continent on the planet.
The platform is around 480 square feet.
The length of the hulls is 40 ft. The width of each one is about three feet , and the overall width when assembled is 12 feet.
Semi trailer and low loader is the plan.

Firstly ,thank you for the kind comments.
I have to admit , I do sometimes think that I know what NOAH must have thought. (AM I MAD ?)
I am building this little boat entirely by myself and at times I could have used a little help.
The most difficult part was assembling those pontoon floats , at 40 feet long they were a handful to handle .I built those in sections to divide them into smaller bites ,and then glued and bolted them together with epoxy. The exterior was fiber glassed marine plywood set in epoxy .
Regardless , I can finally see some light at the end of this particular tunnel.
I should also mention that the cabin area of this little craft is 24 x 12 or 288 square feet.
Thanks again , I do appreciate your interest. Bolting together the hull sections.

Ah but think of the pride you'll have building it yourself. I know I've yearned for a third/fourth/fifth hand from time to time. Don't ask about trying to get the roofing felt started on my last small house build. It only slipped off the roof 3 times and the falling 40 lb stone I had to help hold it in place did miss me ...
But congrats on the project. Looks great. What are you doing for a motor? Or is it more a stationary house with the occasional tow?

very nice, you should be proud. My dad built a houseboat for our family cottage when I was 6 years old. I grew up there in the summers and it had a lot of fond memories. A friend of the family still uses it regularly.

AND that is what camps/cottages/cabins/tiny houses/house boats were made for good times and great memories.

Thank you for the kind words . Hoping to launch sometime this year , but not sure when.
The plan is to fit this little craft with a four stroke outboard engine , around 50 or so HP.
I have a flickr account and there are over five hundred photos here :

Many thanks again for the encouragement.
