Hello everyone new to small cabins, I am building a 14x16 cabin, Dug and poured my sonotubes in the fall, and just started putting my floor on in the last two weeks.
Details - 10" sonotubes 4' deep - 6x8 16' P.T beams - 2x8 joists 16" O.C - Floor wrapped in typar underneath - R-20 Insulation - 6 mm vapor barrier on top floor joists - 5/8 T&G O.S.B. - Everything Screwed IMG_00000435_edit.jp.jpg

Been trying trying to build smart, only regret is not putting big foots on tubes, I was dealing with wet clay in fall, all hand dug by my self with shovel and bar

trevor , we have a camp in Ontario. you mention you have tyvec on the bottom of the floor. We had big problems with porcupines chewing our plywood floor. we bought used barn steel and put it on the bottom. That has kept the buggers out. We also went with ridged Styrofoam between floor joists. Less place for mice and critters to nest. Good looking project. old243

Old243, sounds like a good system, I still have to install heavy Gauge wire to avoid the critters!
