Everything looks great. The set-up you are using with the tank, solar, RV pump, Ecotemp is almost exactly what I have, but I haven't put it all together yet. I notice that the Ecotemp is housed outside in a separate housing. Is it just sort of a set it and forget it deal? When you start up the water pressure running through it does it automatically turn on and heat the water?
Also how does your pump automatically turn on?

The pump has a pressure switch built in. When it builds up pressure it cuts off, and when it senses a loss in pressure it turns on. Same with the water heater. There is also on/off switch on the bottom of the WH.
Right now the pump has a bad check valve assembly, according to the mfg., and once I get it replaced we'll see how everything works.

Oh my gosh - you have my dream cabin. We have excavators working on drilling our posts (we're doing a two build simultaneously) and I'll be placing my lumber order very soon. I am going to watch your thread closely - especially for the solar and water catchment! THANK YOU!

Update:
FlowJet sent me a brand new pump!! Water system works great now.
Also, we had the chance to test the L5 Eccotemp water heater. I was getting warm water for a few minuets then it would get cold, so I called tech support...
The L5 designed to be connected to a water source and the temp controlled at the unit. So when you plumb it like a regular hot water heater and try to use the faucets to regulate the temp it super heats the water and turns off the unit within a few minuets, causing the water to get cold.
With the L5 you can only use the hot side of the faucets, with the temp adjusted outside. (Not real convenient unless everyone likes the same temp water)
The distance from the faucets to the unit also affects the water temp. Faucets closer to the unit will be hotter than faucets farther away.
So we adjusted the temp outside on the unit so that it was comfortable in the shower, remember hot side only. But now, because it was closer, the kitchen faucet was too hot. The tech said if I turned the cold side on just a little it should get cooler. It did.
It works good once you figure it out.

So apparently when you add a bath and kitchen it becomes a "dwelling" and needs a building permit!!!!! (shaking my head...)

Your cabin looks great! Looks like all your hard work is paying off, and now you can enjoy some R&R. I have just started on my 12x16 and am taking notes from all your posts. hopefully mine will turn out half as nice as yours.

Nice place! We should start a 12 X 16 club. That's the dimensions we chose too. I may have to add on because I didn't have the foresight to build in a loft.
I was wondering if your cabin has ever shifted or settled. I built my original cabin 18 years ago on barn stone and when I re-did the cabin last year I had to jack it up in places to get back to level. I retro fit bracing under the structure with concreted 4x4s. Just curious because you chose to build on those concrete feet.
Of course, I'm in Ohio which gets lots more cold and ground upheaval.
Anyhow, once again, great looking cabin!

No settling yet! Everything looks as level as when I framed it. This is our second winter in it. I'm hoping the 4x4s underneath are helping!
