A ton of work but very satisfying, isn't it?

It looks great! I like the bumpouts. Do you have a sketch of your floor plan? I would love to see what you have planned for the space.

kinda nice...I can look at your photos and see what the leaves are doing right now

owen-no stairs yet but I'll get pictures up when I do the stairs

trollbridge-It was a ton of work but a big relief to get the roof done I was getting a bit stressed about it,and yes the leaves are turning and falling there was frost in the low part of the property on sunday morning maples where really red no floor plan for me I only drew enough of a plan to get the permit I'm thinking 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs and bath/kitchen/laundry on main level and I plan to add another 18x28 single level to the corner of this place for a living/fireplace room but that is just talk right now i just go with the flow knowing me even if I had plans I would'nt follow them

Dillio-I was also thinking around the 2 week area it should be real nice thats when I plan on going back up

Went up this weekend cabin was fine weather was bad rained and snowed all weekend my water barrel had a layer of ice on sunday morning but I got one of the window boxes done ready for the window next weekend when I have some help.got a start on the deck 10x8ish this will be coming off when I do the second stage so Im not putting big money into it but the front door is over 3 ft off the ground so I needed something I also want to try and keep some of the dirt out.Put up the wall to enclose the staircase and got one baseboard heater in and started a little insulation and got some of the rafter blocking done.Oh and I slept in it for the first time so that was pretty cool got a lock on the door also. Found tons of dead ladybug lookin beatles and a huge swarm of black flies behind a piece of tar paper I took off over 100 for sure it felt awesome smashing them after being tormented all summer!

You must have froze your butt off! It was cold and damp all weekend! Congrats though...first night is cool! Now take me up on the offer to stay at our place, would ya

You don't recognize those Asian Beetles from home? We have them at home. They fly up from the south and arrive the end of Sept. I had never seen them as far north as our cabin until this year. They were all over the rocks in the sun on the BIG LAKES beaches a couple weekends ago. They stink if you squish them

Your place is really coming along. The bumped out upper window is a nice touch

Just got back pretty nice weather lots of wind on saturday but finished one of the upstairs windows got another baseboard heater installed almost finished the deck( couple boards short) but way easier to get in now got a ton more insulation in got the door to the dungeon in and moved the bathroom wall out adding about a foot to the size also brought up a toaster oven and microwave Im still eating sandwitches but now I can toast them which to me is pretty awesome. And I got the king size sleep number bed up and running. Going from sleeping in the back of a suburban to a king size bed and waking up to an awesome view it just doesnt get any better!

Sounds like a great weekend!!! Everybody has happy smiles I can imagine how excited your wife must have been to see the cabin in "the flesh"! I'm glad that everybody had an appreciation for all your hard work. You have a lot to be proud of!

Amnicon State Park is a fun place to explore. Lot's of nice trails for hiking.

Went up to finally get the block pallets returned (15$ deposit x 16 pallets) and picked up some more block. Turns out the block laying fun is not over.Stopped at Menards since I was "In Town" and they had a block display outside so I loooked 3.77 for a 12" corner block holy cow I just paid 1.93 where i get them from. After all that loading unloading loading unloading I took the rest of the scaffold planks down before the snow comes and tried putting up some more felt on the walls, I got some up but it was sooooo windy it was tearing and just a big mess.So I started working on stairs going up got pretty far. I insulated the exterior wall and covered that with the bcx plywood then ran 2x12 in front of that which I will add shelves to and that will be places for my kids to put all their treasures they collect over the years. This is taking longer than I expected (Of course) but I do love winder stairs. I just need to tweek the stringers slightly and cover them with plywood .This will then all get covered with some type of finish grade wood later but I'm not sure what I want to use.And it turns out cooking brats in a toaster oven was not the best idea I've had!

Went up this weekend to start soffits and meet with the well driller then it rained and poured so I finished the stairs and did the blocking for the trusses ran out nails for the straps but the blocks are in also brought up lots of materials for the addition and the well driller told me he needed more room so I had to pull 4 more stumps and 2 small trees so that turned a good part of the driveway into a huge mudpit with all the rain and got the bobcat and trailer wicked stuck I ended up having to drag the trailer and the bobcat to firmer ground with the truck the mosquitos where relentless on top of it all it was a tough weekend I took a picture of the neighbors yard totally under water and starting to flood the road did I mention it was raining alot!

So the well driller said there still was not enough room so I just removed all the trees where he will drill so he can get his part done and I dig the hole for the footings already.I also started the soffit/fascia and got all the holes upstairs plugged so its pretty tight now and not so many flying things inside.I almost finished the shingles on one of the small roofs just need some flashing. The other small roof gets tied into the addition so thats on hold but I did add some ice paper for protection.Saturday night I came back from town and was going to go down to the lake and I see a deer slowly strolling down the boardwalk I guess they dont like the soft ground either. I forgot the camera in the truck or i would of got a picture it was cool though.
