Thought it would be fun to see where everyone is with their project (for those of us still building, that is)
Me, I'm done with the main cabin, inside and out, except some minor details. So come next fall (I'm in the desert, so summer is out!) I'll start by building my front porch, with roof. It'll be 12' x 24'. Later on I'll add an open deck and screen porch as well (see pic), but I need light so after the front porch I'll install a small solar system........

We are still in the early stage. Just bought our property in March and are working on clearing a roadway and spot for the cabin.

I have to stake out where the house goes and then have the septic guy around to pull some permits and make some plans!

God willing we'll be building by next spring!

Firewood harvesting is done for now (winter activity, have over a decades worth stacked, split and covered). construction projects are for mid summer and fall (inbetween harvests), planting is done and nothing is ready to pick. so my current projects is in ammassing supplies and resources for the next construction/harvest season.

planted an acre worth of corn, beans, and squash. with a smaller area of garlic, cabbage, raddishes, and melons. ammassing supplies in the form of materials to build more solar dehydrators, buying spices and canning jars, and buying additional canners, as well as food grade buckets (for bulk dry goods). need to resupply food for winter.

Thinking about an outdoor kitchen or a tent platform that will be my future tiny cabin floor system. I think it would be nice to get off the ground.

We plan on staining the cedar siding and getting contractors lined up for the water/sewer/electric to be moved over from the camper. Then it will be time for bathroom fixtures,

Finish paneling the inside of the shed and install the lights.

Then install water tank and deck addition with shower stall. Add railing and another set of steps on the deck.

When we get back for the 4th of July week, we want to sand and urethane the flooring we put in at Easter. We also want to get the deck in place and attached to the back of the cabin.

It would be great to get the cistern buried and the collection gutters installed, but that might be a bit much since we also want to sit on the porch with our new Adirondack chairs and enjoy the place a little too.

Have propane appliances installed, double propane light above the sink,100lb propane tank and build the barn doors for the pantry. It will be a dream come true to finally get rid of the ice box I have been using at camp for the past 30 years!

We need to work on the road - getting a bit rough and over grown. Also want to build an outdoor shower stall with shower. Probably out to shore up the outhouse as well. I CAN'T WAIT!! I love working my guts out up there.

Next on the list is work on the road and cut grass. I have grass that is almost 3 feet tall. Not where cabin sits but on the trail walking in. I will do some of that in the morning.

Just finished installing a 12 v led light and water pump in the guest outhouse. Also made a log headboard for the bed. Still have lots of cutting and cleanup as well as want to make a storage shed for the stuff I keep accumulating.
