I have been stalking the forum for the last couple of weeks when I bought 14a in southern oklahoma. Has a metal building cabin on it and am now starting on working on it to be my hunting/get away from the world little place Here are some pics

Welcome! Congratulations on becoming the proud new owner of what I'm sure will soon become your comfy cozy hunting lodge!
What all do you have to do on the inside? Any pics?

The inside is pretty much just open so I have many options, after looking through the forum I think the wife is sold on a loft and wood burning stove, She has agreed with decorating as camo and outdoors (she knew she would lose this argument since she decorated the house). I plan on putting up some wood paneling, tile ect. I am sure I will get good input on the forum, its actually the only forum I subscribe to, most others are full of people who cut every one down. I will post pics as I go along

Thanks for the welcome rayyy, I think by this summer it will look totally different, paint, panel, all the extras I cant wait to start staying there, one day walk away from the rat race and have a simple life

It will be exciting to make those changes on the inside! It's nice that your wife is excited about the cabin too.

We are going up this weekend and cut trees, small sapplings have grown up where the drive was cleared. They didnt gravel it so it is a dirt trail, keep people from wanting to come up and visit. Hopefully the windows will be fixed so we can put them in and stay. The wife is going to clean the whole cabin out. I will post as we go along. Thanks for all the great comments

Hi! and welcome to the forum. I'm trying to figure out what your inside walls are made of. Is it drywall or wood or what. Either one would be a little unusual for a metal building in the middle of "no where" which is exactly where we all hope to be.
Your cabin appears to have a great deal of room for a hunting/relaxing getaway. What are the dimensions? I hear you when you talk about a dirt trail. Our only problem is ours goes up an extremely steep hill about 500-600 feet within 4/10 of a mile. Presently, we can only get up it on a four-wheeler. I'm guessing Oklahoma doesn't have real high hills....if my memory serves me right. I haven't been throughout the entire state so I'm really not sure.
Our cabin is at 1168 feet which is nothing for people on here that live anywhere in the mountains (west or east).
I hope you come to find a certain "peace" whenever you go to the cabin for a day or a week-end I know I do. Good luck on your cabin work and keep us all updated with your photos.

The inside of the building is made of metal also, there is insulation between the walls. The neighbor says we are at about 1600 feet, I dont know if thats correct, it is called the Sans Bois mountain. The cabin is about 25yrds from the road and it is fairly flat. It sits in some pines, and you cant see it from the road. Our windows werent ready this week so I am going up this weekend to put them in. I will post some pics of the area, and thanks for the wish of peace, I have found it even when I have to work up there.

ok, so i have been working a lot have had to back off of the cabin but now have saved up money and favors. We are going up this weekend to put power poles in so I can have electricity (trying to figure out how to go solar later) and will build small front porch. I am trying to get ready for bear season, Oct. 1st. I will post some pics next week if anyone is interested in seeing the upgrades.
