We purchased two 8x16 shed 'kits' at McCoys and built the weekender. Put a lot of insulation in and so glad. By opening the eastern window/door, the morning sun heats the room so it is toasty warm at bedtime in the winter. In summer, I keep the curtains/shutters closed so the sun does not heat the house. Got a great evap cooler this summer that cools both rooms easily. Incorporated a 40' x 8' steel cargo. Took off the double end doors and installed sliding patio doors. It is not heated/cooled, but used for storage/shop area. Adding the front porch really made a difference in summer. I can open my east door/windows and enjoy the morning sun without heating up the cabin. I am going to miss it as we are trying to move back to Texas to be near family. What started out as a weekender should have stayed a weekender. Perfect for two! Started as a 16x36 ft cabin

I don't like to post too much of the inside. There are some photos on Craig's List where house is listed for sale here is one of the original cabin inside.
