I love this website. Most "cabin" sites and plans are for much bigger cabins. Here are a few of pics for mine which is finally done. Pathway had to be cut out and all construction material had to be hauled up by hand and halfway through I bought an ATV as the 800ft rise is very steep almost to the point where the ATV tips backwards.

I liked the picture of the roofing going up the hill. A most excellent use of snow skis.

I know what you mean by "Steep". Our property rises 650 feet in 4 tenths of a mile.

What did you use for the walls and floor. It looks very warm and inviting. Love the stove.

Deer and bear - some elk but very limited as they are being reintroduced.

I used 3/4 x 6 inch #3 pine t&g on the ceiling; 3/4 x 5 pine channel lap on the walls and 1x10 stressed pine at 5-7% moisture content on the floor. All bought from Monaghan lumber in Peterborough.

I wanted to let you know about the cabin and how we fairedwith the rain and snow with my 2 and 1/2 inch drop in eight feet.

We had no problem with heavy rains and wind but I was concerned about snow that could maybe have blown up under the flashing. Granted ...it would have to have blown in 7" upa slight grade but I knew that if the wind had blown from that direction (which it never does) it could conceivably have blown up again the facing board which is inside the cabin.

Old Buddy just called me on the cell-phone from the cabin and told me there was about 8" of snow on the roof and NO LEAKS! I hope that's a good sign. I know the drop was very slight but I gigured the7" overhand on the new roof would do the trick
