Here are some photos from a beautiful weekend at the cabin Oct. 25-27 despite lack of electricity. Sadly, I didn't have my snowshoes -- didn't expect to need them for a while.

I used to absolutely HATE HATE HATE winter until we bought our cabin in the mountains.
I have a whole new perspective on the season now. Can't wait to get up there in the middle of winter.

Thanks for the tease, Ann!

Same here! It's a 3 mile walk in (or out) ...... I've been lucky to catch a ride on passing snowmobiles thus far, but I have walked out, and it was a nice walk. A significant PROBLEM would be driving in, getting snowed in and can't drive the truck out until springtime. This year, I have all the snowshoes ready and waiting.

Fall and winter are my absolute favorite times of the year! Thank you for the pics.. I was wondering how much snow we got up at our property. BTW I love your cabin.. Is it Amish built?

So who all is affected by todays snowstorm in the Rockies and Kansas? I know our turn is coming soon and as much as I love a good snowstorm, we just aren't ready yet-too much to finish up at the cabin first! But if today was YOUR turn, stay safe and throw a snowball or make a snow angel for the rest of us :)

Stoke up the fire and get out the cocoa.

What size is it?
Wife and I are wanting to do the same thing. We are still debating size vs. budget..
