dfosson I have been conversing with Andrey (from Russia) as well. It just amazes me that we can sit at our desks/tables and write to someone from Moscow, Russia. I hope he stays in daily contact. I have so many things I would like to ask him about living in Russia. I know that his understanding of the English language is probably limited but he knows a lot more English than I do Russian
I was wondering....did your Christmas cards have a picture of your cabin on them? If they didn't....they should have. It's absolutely beautiful.
I wish you a happy, healthy, prosperous New Year! OOB

Dear friends, thanks for Your interest. I hope, we can understand each other, despite my limited English. I'll start new topic with pictures and information about my cabin. It's not cold now near Moscow. Aproximately 30 degrees Farenheit. But recently was about -10 degrees Farenheit.
Happy New Year

Winter weekends involve many chores. Removing ashes, splitting wood, banking fires, filling feeders, lighting candles and pouring wine. Hard to find anything better than being on cabin time. Relaxing in the evening

I just love your attention to detail! Your cabin should be featured in a magazine it is so beautiful. If you do not mind where did you find the pine tree metal art in your kitchen over the bar?

Just to echo everyone - absolutely beautiful!!! My wife & I are going to start looking at some land in Eastern / SE OH next spring, and then as time & finances permit I'll get going on our own cabin.
Truly appreciate the detail in the posts, it has and will give me a lot of inspiration and ideas! Again thank you for sharing, it's absolutely gorgeous!!

Can you please tell me where you purchased the Welcome to Fosson's Cabin Hideaway "relax and enjoy" sign? I want one for my camp.
Thank you,

With all the fears of "sequester" and how it will hit average americans, its good to know a cabin can be a sanctuary from all of it. I found my wood kitchen stove on Craig's List for $200. That's the cost of a doctor's visit or a college football game for 2. I named her Beulah and she is a worker. It may be 29 outside but she has it 80 in the cabin kitchen as I prepare a pan of chocolate chip cookies for her oven. Who said off the grid would be rough?

Spring is just around the corner! Cabin friends return. Sitting in my recliner, I enjoy capturing images of a new season arriving just beyond my cabin's windows. Eastern bluebird

Spring at the cabin provides many opportunities to enjoy rain on that metal roof. Always on the look out for cabin accents, I found this lamp for my recliner at Cabela's website. Some rain, wine and a Kindle at the cabin and my worries go away. Spring 2013 at the cabin

Porch solar lights from Cabela's. They come on just in time for the whip-poor-wills and stay on all night long.
