Hi yall, I was wondering, if any of you who have built a shed style cabin, with the flat angled roof, would happen to have any pics you could share with me.. I am doing homework on the shed roof cabin, and need to see some examples, inside and out, and Google image is not being so kind to me today.. If you did this style, would you be kind enough to post some pictures for me? Thanks..

smitty Looks like they've all gone to the cabin for the weekend . Only 6 or 7 hits all day !! I am afraid i have never built a cabin with a shed roof , allthough i have built 5 sheds with shed roofs . the guys are right they are easy .. but for a first try at building maybe a simple garage package with a prefab truss roof and a modified window & and door package wood be a good confidence builder , they come with written instructions and a set of plans most building inspectors accept . u can even start with a slab cocrete floor! I built on once using [w] trusses which gave us a small loft !! I think there is a pic on spee's thread back about christmass. keep trying .just

With the late spring I won't have the roof on my place until July sometime. We still have 18" of snow on the mtn. I'll post a pic when we get that far.

Thanks fellers.. We do want to do the shed roof.. Here is what we want to do, I am taking design idea from different designs to make my own.
I want to take basically this design..
For the size and floor plan..
But I want to do this style, with the upper windows, (facing south of course)
The front porch to be replaced with this..
the main room will double ad the master bedroom, and a sleeping loft above the kitchen/bath for the little ones..
I think this will meet our needs quite well. Will fit into our budget, and has all of the ideas we want to accomplish..
Does this make sence to y'all? It does while we are talking about it. Hope I am explaining it right..

Makes sense to me, smitty.
I'm considering almost the same thing for our next cabin. I've done a few models, and, yes, definitely upper windows. My thoughts are basically putting two lean-tos together.

check this thread: http://www.small-cabin.com/forum/6_645_0.html It's my pole cabin in the desert. I think I'm in the process of doing what you're talking about. Neat way of building and allows for upper windows. It's called a 'clerestory' in the building industry, building two sheds back to back.

Gary, Yes just like your model, only the front half a solarium. Pretty sure that's what we've decided on in a 14x24.
Borrego, Thank you, I love what you are doing out there. Can't wait to see it finished.
I'm getting great ideas from the forum.

Did you finally build your cabin? What kind of roof did you finally go with?
