Here is an old photo of a portion of my cabin driveway. It's still basically the same but I have some dirt coming and some road base after that. If you can't tell, it's fairly steep down to the turn.
I have it cambered towards the hillside (left) on the straight section, and to the inside of the curve, which I felt was safe for sliding vehicles. The right side of the straight drops off sharply, so does the outside of the curve. A ditch that is now along the hillside carries water straight past the curve and over the side.
I am wondering if this is right way to have it before I start putting road base down.

As I am looking at the photo, I would want the water to run downhill on the left, also for any extended length down or up, its a good idea to add a slight uphill then back downhill and uphill, so its just not all straight down all the way. This keeps water from generating speed and washing out your road.
Around that corner, it would need to run to the right (inside) to keep from washing road over the side, but you would need culverts now and then for heavy run off to divert it under the road and over the hillside.

Thanks TMT. Yeah I think that's the way. I'll take better photos tomorrow after I push some dirt around.

You need a ditch on the left, and the roadway pitching towards the left. Then at the curve, the water will transition to the right with the road needing a ditch on the right hand side going down.
Always make a ditch to the side of the road with the hill. Putting in some water bars at the end of each down hill section will also help get those large rain falls off of the roadway.

Thanks snobdds. Last winter I dug a ditch along the hill side that continued on straight at the curve. It's covered now since I brought in more dirt but it seemed to work.

A ditch on the left will be good. Throw that dirt on the right side to raise it while your doing it. Drainage away from the road surface will help keep things tight and dry.
I like your banked turn. That should work really well.
