Hi, I am narrowing my search to a property that has small cedar sided cabin on it (well, has the look of a two-story tiny home; 180 sq ft or so). Electricity and water is available; septic is approved but needs system installed.
My question: aside from the septic system installation, what is the ballpark cost to "outfit" and finish a tiny dry cabin? To insulate, add fixtures, run the septic and any water/electric lines? Again, the big three will be there/are there already (septic, water, electric) -- I just need to know what I'd be getting into, cost-wise, finishing and hooking everything up. It's tiny, but I know this stuff isn't cheap.
Thanks

180 sq feet, I'd say $5000, you can really cut corners and trim that way down. And as far as how well you finish it, can be double. I have about 14K into mine. Sub'd out foundation, tin on roof stove pipe install and cabinet build, rest i did myself.

In 2013 It cost me $703.63 to do the electrical in my 192 sq ft shed. The interior finishing cost me $1,527.20. This is material only. There was no plumbing. I tracked all costs to the cent (former cost estimator). I’d add 2-3 % per year to account for inflation.

Mike, it may be a shed, but its perfect practice for a real living quarters. It looks like you dont need any more practice though.
