i live in snohomish co wa and i was wondering if i needed to have a permit to build a boat on my own property

Call the county and ask.. I can not imagine why there would be any permits to build a boat. A license or registration later sure, but not to build a boat. But no matter what any of us may think the true answer will be found at your local government level.

The building codes don't cover boats and other vehicles, but local planning ordinances often dictate the number and size of RVs you can have on your property.
