I'm wondering if anyone else gets these calls. For a couple of years now, I have been getting both letters and calls from people offering to buy my undeveloped land, although there is a cabin and a pole barn there.

Yep. Best advice I can give is to chill out and ignore them. Maybe block the calling number but those can be changed, spoofed, etc.....

mail, i'm up to $32,000. I think they are after the timber. No way I'm going to sell, I just found year round spring. You know what the value of water coming out of the mountain at 1800 feet elevation is?

Yes, I get letters and postcards, but no phone calls. Some of them say they are small farmers that are buying and selling parcels of land as a side business during the winter. At least that's their cover story.

Yes I do as well. On almost all of my properties but a couple are much more consistent...
On my rentals, they all want to lowball me....
If you own land in an area that is seeing development pressure, then you can actually get a good offer, but I suspect most of our properties are not in those areas...

Yes, I have checked two of the offers to buy over a few years. They low-ball. IMO, only the truly desperate will bite. But they only have to succeed once in a while.

I get them, yep. I also get them for my main house, a duplex in the city, fairly often.

Get letters all the time, some were as low as 4500 for 20 acres, most so far has been 28K, still 10K under what I paid for it, but added cabin, power, well etc. I just shred them, dont even respond. Never gotten calls, just letters.

Same here - both letters and phonecalls. All they need to do, at least here in Indiana, is view your property tax record to obtain a name and tax bill mailing address, and then they can mail you an offer based on what appears in the tax record, which as some have already pointed out may not be the most accurate/up-to-date.
They can also use your name and mailing address to look up a phone number and call you that way.....

I believe the owners name and address plus a few details of any property in any state is public info. It is available online at the county tax office in every western state around me here in NM. So, yep, "they" can harvest that info.

HA, I just got one yesterday at home, lol.
" are you the owner of the property for sale at xxxxx?" No, that is not our address but it sure seems like they wanted to get some kind of a yes answer out of me for whatever reason.....I will never use an affirmative in any call like that, who knows what they will do with it!

These calls have become so bad, I don't answer my phone any longer. I look at the number or lack of, and then let the voice mail (no message when it answers...just not available to take a call). I'd like to have an AI answer and have a lengthy discussion with them to waste their time....Ha!
