I'm just dying to know what our place is like during the winter. We finished our first building at our place this fall. I would really like to see it after a good snow. It will probably another 2 months before we can get in to camp.
Thanks for sharing.

We are going to our cabin, this week end - first time in the winter. A little skeptical as I have never winter camped. Our road is not maintained we will have to park and hike in. We have no services so will be treking in water and such. Not sure I will like the cold out house seat!

MikeOnBike Thats why we are going this week end. We want to see what our little place looks like in the snow. We have seen it once spring summer and fall. So this will be our first for the winter adventure. ..Bring it on ...that has to be the attitude ...I take with me....as it will be my first winter camp out. Our cabin is very, very simplistic.....as it has no services.....and the challenge will begin at the road in.

Until I get a snowmobile I will have a 30+ mile hike in snowshoes to our place.

Try cutting out a seat from ridged stroughfoam insulation for the cold season. Instant warmth when you sit down

Coming out of a warm cabin I was quite capable to detect a cold seat ....... and was pleasantly surprised at how 'neutral temp' the cedar was. If you make a toilet seat out of cedar, (if you can locate lightweight cedar) is almost like styrofoam, except much better for an outhouse.
