Has anyone experienced stray Dogs or a pack of Dogs on their property or around their area. I have seen some dogs running in a pack a while back but last time we went to our property their were track around our place and they weren't coyotes. I know people that have seen packs chasing deer and getting into other problems and I know they can get fearless and mean toward people when in packs together. what would you guys do if you encounter a pack of Dogs on your property or somewhere they should'nt belong. Someone mentioned that the fish and game told them he could shoot them if they're harasing wildlife and some farmer I understand shoot them on sight. -Cedar

Feral dogs are a worse menace than coyotes, as they are not as shy around humans. Back in the '70s we lived on the edge of a tree farm, of which they imported coyotes to keep the deer down (from nibbling on seedlings). The female coyotes would call out our hounds. Neighbors told us that once the dogs were called out, the pack would kill 'em, or the dogs would join the pack. Neither happened in our case, but dog packs were sighted from time to time. Check with the local authorities, if you wish, (I can't tell you what to do) but I'd kill 'em in their tracks, especially if I had children around, or dogs/pets I prized.

i had a couple dogs on my trail cam lately----i shoot all coyotes, but would hate to shoot a dog--- one of the ones in the pic had a collar--- i hope they go back home if they have one---- i really wish people would take care of their dogs, keep them penned etc---in hunting season a dog can mess up a hunt real quick!!!!!

Wild dog's can be very dangerous. They do not fear people and I for one fear them more then a wild animal. If you are ever run into a pack of them be very careful. I have heard of some bad experiences from wild dog's.

My husband saw three wild dogs on our beach one morning. They ran off when he yelled at them. They came running out of the woods and into the lake. He had just come back from dropping off our garbage and had seen a deer cross our road running for it's life. This was the first time we did not bring our dog with us to the cabin and thank God for that because he would have been on the beach with my husband. Later in the year the local farmers got together and shot the dogs.

A wild dog pack approached me once when I was way out in the woods. Some kept a cautious distance, a few younger ones approached me as if to want food or attention, or even a home. They didn't menace me at all, and wandered off eventually. I guess it depends on the pack.
