I know. There are so many.
But my favorite sign of spring is the return of the bittern.
The gallump gallump sound echoing through the fields.

Theres many things I like. When it greens up. Wild flowers start coming out. The return of robins, meadow larks, and mountain bluebirds. Deer and antelope dropping their fawns and seeing the little tiny guys walking around with their moms. Spring rains/snows, when it rains down here, but snows a couple miles away on the mountains. Thundersnow. Spring snow, when it snows and is gone in a couple hours.
Not favorite spring things, bears coming out. Snakes coming out. Dog blowing her winter coat. If one hasnt experienced a malamute blowing their coat, you cant understand where the term came from

I have a large cherry tree that goes full pink blossom. Its so pretty, and it snows pink blossoms for a week. And right next to it is a lilac tree. Its scent is so strong. I absolutely love lilac smell. I planted both of them years ago. I do have to trim back the cherry tree. Its gettign massive and fast.

No more snow. I knew someone was going to say it, so I figured it might as well be me...

The waves of Trilliums in the bush. You know the leaves on the trees are not far behind.

Spent the weekend listening to the robins, swans, sandhill cranes and a flock of ducks. It is amazing how alive everything has become in the last week. Oh can't forget the drumming of our local grouse looking for love.

Fresh new beginnings. The birds are fun to watch,, love is in the air. Being able to open the windows for the first time in 6 months, smelling that fresh breeze. Lilacs blooming. Hummingbirds return. Morel harvesting just around the corner..

Since our cabin is on the west side of the Cascade Mts. of western Washington where it just gets wet and bare during the winter it is the return of the greenery. The unfurling of the ferns and the Salmonberry blossoms. You're all invited to breakfast if you're in the area for some flapjacks and homemade salmonberry jam.

Mine is waking up on a Saturday morning, sun is shining through my bedroom windows, I can feel the nice warmth from the greenhouse affect through the glass and hear the birds singing like crazy. I get up and head out knowing its going to be a nice day.
Also, to smell the fresh cut grass and hearing all the neighbors mowing. Going to Home Depot and seeing everyone in the gardening section buying flowers etc.
I like winter, but at the end, love spring and summer. The first signs of spring and warmer weather is nice.
