Winter usually brings high water and we have to canoe in. A little frost on the paddles is the extent of my ice and snow experience.

Hey Malamute, now we need a better picture of your Snow Loving Husky... At least one family member was really enjoying it... My Siberian always went nuts in fresh snow, like an adrenaline rush for her I guess.

from last winter. The snow was so deep, you had to step upward to get off the porch. The dog had a heck of a time with it and she's an energetic pointer. This winter, not so much, I can drive right up to the cabin in my half ton truck, it doesn't hurt my feelings that the east coast is getting all the snow this year.

Awesome winter scenery. Yep it is always nice to have a good winter. I remember a few years ago I had to snow shoe in November.

the houseboat my dad built, that I cottaged in for 35 years, and the cottage my wife and I bought 10 years ago. Yes we painted over that ugly colour. Its going for sale this year, as I have another place that I have yet to visit in the winter, but hope too very soon.

Enjoyed the pic's everyone. Thanks

We've a real cold winter - I am thinking last two months it has been on average 10C colder than normal. Lots of snow but actually under the average - difference this year is that we haven't had any melts - this morning is the first day since late December that the temp has got above freezing! Was down to the camp to check snow load on the deck - have a metal roof which drops it's load onto the deck - it's been so cold the snow is all still on the roof!

Here is our cabin last week, after getting about 10 inches of snow. Lots of critter tracks everywhere.

I just got back from a week at the cabin which is in Eastern Ontario. It was a cold week to say the least. Overnight lows hit -30 C. There is a falls close to my place and it was completely frozen over, with water running underneath it. I have never seen so much ice! The snowshoeing and x-country skiing was amazing! Melted snow for water for dishes etc. Here are a few pics of my trip.

I love how this thread starts out with "we just got 4 inches of the beautiful white stuff....."
Around these parts, we have other words for it....haha

Ironic that there was a guy canoeing in this thread.....today I sat on my little patio and enjoyed the view of my nice lawn, and hummingbirds flitting from feeder to feeder...then I woke up.

Thanks. I got lucky and found this cabin at the right time. Nearest road is 13 miles. Only fly in or wintertime access by snow machine.
