Minding my business yesterday morning headed to the creek I heard a noise turned just in time and ducked, a resident Great Horned wanted myhat or head, either way he dropped a large feather now it's in my hat now were even! Was a handsome bugger easily a 3 foot wingspan and the feather has super soft edges... .quite a start for the day.

Quite an honor- usually they keep their distance- I've only seen the pair in my area once in 7 years, hear them from time to time as they pass through. Beautiful, majestic birds

Had a similar experience with a goshawk several years back. Swooped in three or four times at me. I do not remember thinking it was fun at the time, although looking back there was a cool aspect to it.
