One of the best sounding alarm clocks I've ever listened to. 
I also love listening to our loons when they choose to pay us a visit. Isn't nature wonderful?

At my place in the Sierras of California there are these little red foxes that come around at night and bark at me. But their bark is more like a scream from a banshee. Before I knew what it was, I literally jumped out of bed one night after hearing it, for fear of my life. Little bugger just walked up to my tent trailer, screamed bloody murder in my ear, then trotted away laughing at me. Yes, nature is wonderful- sometimes.

Now that we can sleep with the windows open it's nice to wake with the birds greeting the day. This morning was a little different. Our dog let out some deep barks and I heard a crashing through the woods. We got out on the porch just in time to see the bear heading back up the hill.
