Thanks Just. Here are some more pictures from Feb-March of this year, perhaps the same animal. I had once seen a fisher here, but this appears tailless. Could they survive without one? And I have images of raccoon; even at night you can see their strips. It could well be a gruffalo, although a friend insists it is a Capybara. mystery_beast.jpg

I bought a cottage near Muskoka in Ontario last year and had a trail camera at the back of the driveway (which is pretty much just a trail) for several months with zero wildlife. I decided to move it 30 yards back into the bush and was pleasantly surprised by the activity over the last 3 weeks. I've uploaded a few of the highlight.
