I found a CL ad for the road shower. I've been trying to figure out ways to get a shower in in the winter when I'm in my AK cabin. It's kind of like a big weed sprayer: a tank that you can pressurize. Application is for car camping and solar heating. But, maybe you could also just heat your water off the wood stove stove and then fill your tank. Pressurize and get a good shower in.

Those are definitely interesting. I don't know if you've ever seen them, but they sell rechargeable portable showers on Amazon for $30-40. One end is a shower head, the other end is a pump that you drop in a 5 gallon bucket. It has decent enough pressure for a camp shower and you get quite a bit of use before needing a recharge. Cheap and simple solution if your looking for a shower at camp.

We use the Zodi Extreme. We bought the version with a burner, but you can put it on a stove top or wood stove to heat the water. Been great so far! Enough water for 2 of us to get a shower in one fill.

Zodi, that looks much easier to work with, thanks.

That road shower seems more complicated than it needs to be. We've used a solar shower on extended camping trips.

If the sun isn't shinning just heat some water on the stove and fill it with that.

A shower greatly depends on weather and temp. I have showered with non heated stream water in the summer and it felt great. Do the same thing at 30* and you will be frozen before your dry.

Solar showers won't work here, to much shade and not enough sun exposure. Heating water in a pot is very time consuming.

By far the best $200 we have spent for our property is the portable propane on-demand water heater and a 12v pump. There are just no words to explain how nice a decent length hot shower feels after a long day of work.

We have a Zodi pump and don't use it anymore. With 5gal of heated water you have to stop and start the flow to get 5min of shower. It also took about 30-45min to heat enough water for that 5min stop/start shower. Now I just go out and turn the propane on for the on-demand until and shower away.

Time is precious at our property, I don't want to spend almost 1hr taking a shower.

I have the Zodi Extreme that I have used on week long ATV camping trips. Not only to shower, but heat water for dish washing, etc. and the burner is a great little camp stove to boot. We used the Zodi at the cabin for a while but now have a Eccotemp with 12 volt pump. It really depends on circumstances. If your camping on an ATV, the Eccotemp and 12volt pump is a lot to carry. On the other hand, with the Zodi, you just need to fill the tank from a water source, and heat.

We correctly use a submersible pump shower like - JDH - suggested you can get on Amazon. It is actually a pretty good piece of kit.

But, Brett is right, it is a bit time consuming and you have to stop and start the shower. We haul or melt snow in the winter so we need to conserve water anyway.... but I am going to try to get our tankless water heater installed this summer and some kind of winter plumbing in place for showers.

Zodi extreme for winter months without running water is the simplest and best solution I’ve found over the years. Mine sits on the wood stove all day and if needed to top up temp a few minutes on the propane stove. Lots of water for 2 people if you don’t waste water

We keep a large 5 gal or so pot on the woodstove so the water is always ready. I use 6” sun shower head n stand in a 4 foot tote. I have a quarter turn valve in line between the pump and shower head to control pressure. A 12v surflow pump for pressure. The pump serves several purposes.
Did your cabin come with any other structures? Or equipment ?

We heat the water in a 4 gallon stock pot either on the wood stove or over a butane burner until it is 115 deg F. We use this 12v pump connected to a kitchen sink sprayer with fiber reinforced tubing:
https://www.amazon.com/Seaflo-Diaphragm-Pressure-Caravan-Marine/dp/B00DLKT4OO/ref=sr_ 1_1?dchild=1&keywords=seaflow+12v+1.2+gpm&qid=1579459360&sr=8-1

The kitchen sprayer allows good conservation of water, "Navy shower style", so the 4 gallons last for 2 people.

I have a little garage and a work shop with my cabin. I do have an ecotemp also, but like some say here, am looking for options and redundancy. It gets -50 in the Alaskan interior. I'm going to have a wood stove going all the time. I'm liking the Zodi 3 gallon on the wood stove as a good option. I can use it as a shower or at the sink.

One of my projects this summer might be to build a small sauna too. Sauna/shower house. Have a good sweat in winter, then rinse off with the Zodi.

My cabin is log. Is there any concern about creating a breeding ground for mold by boiling a pot all winter on the wood stove?

We keep a lid on top of the pot we have on the stove.

Typically wood heat is very dry so I wouldn’t think so but as mentioned a lid will solve any moisture issues if you have one

Has anyone been able to track down a zodi extreme? Their website won't let us complete the purchase, the listed phone number goes to voicemail, they haven't responded to email and they're told out everywhere else.

Seems like they might be out of business. You could always fab one up with a stainless steel yard sprayer. There must be other alternatives to zodi but I’ve Never researched as I’ve been quite happy with my zodi
