Irrigation guy you should check your clearance to combustables. Your hearth is far to small.

It is a manufactured propane heater that looks like a wood stove, and as such it may be designed for small clearances and it likely needs no (floor) hearth as there are no ashes to be concerned about. You'd have to check the specs on it but it might be okay to run carpet under it.

Any chance I can get a pic of the exterior where it exits? I may throw this in on the opposite side of the cabin.

Yes it is a gas stove designed to look like wood burner, I guess they did a good job because you were fooled lol. It is installed to spec with clearances to combustibles and floor protection. That is why I used this type because of the small clearances.

There should not be. The fuel burns in an enclosed firebox; uses outside air for combustion and sends all the exhaust outside. There are clearance limts on the outside for distances to doors, windows, etc, just as inside there are clearances to windows and combustibles. A very good way to heat with NG or propane when a full sized furnace is not necessary or possible. I have used direct vent propane heaters in conjunction with wood stoves and think they work very well.
