Re-reading a bunch of past posts here you always hear that the initial cost is prohibitive for lithium.

Well like I said in a recent response I just purchased 4 1kwh Volt modules for well under $1,000 shipped. My feeble math told me that these are equivalent to my current 8 x 330 6 Volt Trojans.

Frankly they seem to come to market almost every day, although the 48 Volt packs are more common, and even from 2 cars with 40k on them my 24 volt Volts should last a long time if I take good care and feeding.

So.....unless my math is off...initial cost was waaay less than replacing my current batteries and the ROI is off the charts. But I will miss the hauling and watering and acidic fumes. Even the $1,2000 4 kwh Volt modules seem cheaper than buying a comparable "usable" amount of LA bank.

So what am I missing? I can't be the smartest person in the world. Did I ingest too much of the Creeky Kool-Aid? Are people skittish about buying used vs. new?

What am I missing?

You have NOT lost your mind LMAO ! Things have changed drastically in the past 5 years and now the used battery market has finally come into it's own... There just had to be enough salvage to make it happen.

As noted in other threads, I am deeply peering into this again as my FLA's have seen better days thanks to my "abusing" them and let's leave that there... 1st (and last) FLA bank eh !

At present I am evaluating:
- Building my own powerwall system from scratch
- Building a "Power Pack" using 8x 400Ah LifePo4 or 16x 200Ah cells.
- Building a "power bank" with 24V Tesla Cells.

I've contacted Creeky on this and it seems possible BUT he's not great in the Clarity department in his responses. I would certainly prefer to buy local, support local & keep our good folks going.... I really do not wanna export hard earned cash to anyone on the "outside" as it were.
