Last weekend Tesla announced rentals for their solar systems. $50 a month.. They're only saying available online for certain states in the USA. Nothing mentioned about Canada. although they will take a deposit for one of these kits online..has anyone else heard of anything?

Not yet but apparently they are pondering it for 2020, there's a supply constraint for now. Some US States disallow such for "political" reasons... forget freedom & independence for the people, or the right to choose even.

Mmm, that would be nice, does it come with sun? 
From what I read, you have to own your home, be tied to a grid and paying the utility company.
All of which I have, but I don't have an 18 mile cord to reach my cabin.
