I'm wondering what the value would be in one of these tanks that Shurflo sells. My system: 750 gallon tank is located above cabin, filled from well with submersed well pump and generator a few times a year. Shurflo 12v 3.5 gpm pump at cabin, L5 heater, toilet, sink, shower. Pump kicks on anytime water is running and pump is on. I get pretty good gravity flow with the pump off (via a bypass circuit) and really only use the pump when the L5 is needed, as it won't turn on with just gravity feed.

Would the tank make the pump only kick on if the water has run for a minute?

The accumulator will allow the water to run for a little before the pump kicks on, but I wouldn't worry about it running everytime water is used. I have had the same Shurflo pump in an RV since 1985. It gets used several times a year, every year. I replaced the valve body once but that was because I screwed up and did not winterize it in time. Original motor. Speaking of which, if you need to winterize the water system, the accumulator is just another place where a freeze failure could occur.

Or put in a standard pressure tank which allows for longer time between the Shurflo running. The one Shurflo sells is pretty small and really only designed to even out pressure surges from the pump. If you don't mind it coming on every time you get a drink of water, then don't even bother with a pressure tank.

My two cents

OK thanks guys. Don't see any need for it.
