invert types ,FYI... just helped neighbor put in a inverter, he had bought a pure sign wave....will not run a flat screen tv... had to get a modified...

I doubt if that actually had something specifically to do with modified vs pure sine wave. Likely more to do with the capacity of the inverters (or a bad inverter) - you would need to provide more details on each model and the TV power needs.

Some electronics may run better from a pure sine wave (and some need it) but, as a pure sine wave's aim is to better reproduce the normal grid power, I cannot see how a TV would need a modified sine wave. Some electronics and clocks will not run from a modified and motors may run hotter reducing life. Also, all modified sine wave inverters are not equal in signal quality (same for some so called pure sine wave). Again, suspect this has something to do with power needs not being met or a bad pure sine wave inverter.

well this happen twice to people a round are camp,, but u are right about makeing no sense maybe a grounding problem or something.. will do some more research .
