Got most of the wiring done a week ago, minus the inverter (due to a shipping snafu, now I wish I HAD ordered the 1200. oh well) and distribution panel. We will be headed up again soon to finish the wiring, but having lights was awesome.

Finally got everything connected this weekend: charge controller, battery, inverter, and distribution panel. There are still a few pieces of work left to be done (permanent mount for panels, outside porch light, and one more outlet) but it feels like magic to be off grid, flip on a switch, and have light.
We'll be up for a longer stretch in a week or so- I'm looking forward to finishing the last few bits and getting a feel for how appropriately sized the system.
The Victron app is seriously cool. I have a feeling I am going to get addicted to monitoring our usage.

Ain't that the truth! I was amazed that the lights came on!

Well, so far, this is more than enough power. We are hitting absorption well before noon on most days. I haven't been using a lot of laptop time yet, so we will see what happens when I do some writing. But for now, lights + charging things, it has turned out to be an awesome system.

Can we get a break down as to what you ended up with?
Per-aps some photos as well. Creeky likes to look at the photos (so I'm told)
I'm just here for the articles

Sure thing. Here's what we installed:
2 Renogy RNG-300D 300W Monocrystaline Panels Mounted on ProSolar rails 40' Renogy cables from panel to charge controller Victron 135/35 MPPT Charge controller with bluetooth 1 48v Chevy Volt battery module Victron 48v 800w inverter
I've got it all running to an Eaton 8 bay load center. I used a double pole breaker to jump the two legs and serve as a AC system cut off.
I will get some pictures up soon.
