I just purchased 3 each, MorningStar SL-10L-12v SunLight Solar Charge Controllers, off eBay. This fellow says he has 10 all in all. Retail, they are ~$90 US each.

I have owned one of these since 2013. It's a great little lighting controller - up to 10 amperes, anyway. And, it has 10 different settings for lighting (timed) control.
It takes, as I recall, a few days to actually synchronize day and night. But, once it has, it runs and controls lights connected to it, like a top. (I run LED flood lamps off mine.) You can leave it alone, especially if running a sealed battery with it.

Oh, for newbies to solar, you don't have to use this for lighting control. You can disable that function completely, if you wish, and let the panel charge your 12vdc battery for other power needs around your cabin.
