After fumbling around for too long to load the wood stove, I decided to make hinges and make the door swing towards the wood pile (should have come with dual hinges!). Seems to work fine, however the row of holes that were in the bottom of the frame only are now on top. Wondering if they do anything important?

Strange, if the stove works fine I'd put it down as a conversation piece....haven't a clue.

I believe they are there to bath the glass in fresh air and keep it clean .

That's all I could think of they could be for, and I'm not fussy about the glass. Thanks guys.
