Hello All,
Great website! I have a dug well about 25' deep and about 250' feet away from my cabin. I have a EU3000 generator made by Honda. It pulls 3000 watts. I see some pumps that use less then 3000 watts, but I hear the start up could draw alot more watts. Could anyone recommend a pump I could use?

what type of pump are you using? 3000w @ 120v = 25A. i have a hard time beliving that pump is using that much power. double check your pump specs.

Grunfoss makes pumps that have very low start needs. They also make some excellent DC pumps.

I've been following this website for a few months now and finally decided to sign up today, after reading your post. I have a 23 foot well 150 feet from my camper, which is the future sight of my cabin. I use a 1 H.P. shallow well pump with a built on pressure tank. They run on a 15 amp circuit and mine puts out a lot of water. From the pump I just use a garden hose to the camper. They can be bought at menards , harbor freight, home depot, or even on ebay. This one is a little bigger than the one I have.

These pumps are sold at Harbor Freight for as low as $90- when they go on sale. I just bought one at that price, but won't be installing it at the camp until spring/summer.
