Our cabin was no water or sewer, were getting a well drilled and decided on a 1000 gal holding tank, its going right outside the bathroom and will have a 4 inch pvc pipe right from the toilet. Is there anything more needing to be done other than dig a hole to the proper depth and drop it in??

When our guy did ours he spent alot of time getting it level then he added a riser with a lid and lock and you dont want the riser to be taller than your well pipe, the level, height and distance were things that seemed most important to the inspector. He also said when he has to use plastic tanks he adds straps going over them held down with bags of concrete ,we have full spetic but i believe tanks are the same

I was warned when my 1200 gallon septic tank was put in that if it was not full of water by winter it could float right out of the ground if there was enough rain to saturate the earth. Once it is full of water the danger is past. Problem with a holding tank is that when emptied it can then float. I guess that's the reason for the straps and concrete.
If you are going to the trouble to bury a tank, why not put in a full septic? Drain fields are not terribly expensive, then you never have to pay to pump the holding tank.
In most areas a well must be located at least 100 ft from a septic tank or field. Don't know about holding tanks.

fill the tank about 2/3 of the way or more before you cover it. If it's empty and it rains it WILL float up and then you will have a nightmare on your hands.
I'm also with bldginsp you won't need but 100' of field.
what kind of soil do you have?? rock, clay, sand? good black dirt?
