I remember reading a few years ago how some very smart fellers increased the size of battery on their Toyota Prius and experimented with making them "Plug-In" as well long before Toyota started selling that feature. For sure they voided their warranty but it was clever.
What impressed me was reading about a project to use the Prius as a generator. After all it is an electric generator designed to run non stop (limited by the tank of gas).
If your camp was easily accessible as mine is, this would be an amazing technology. It could compliment solar charging as well.
