I am trying to figure out if I can easily and relatively inexpensively connect a fan to a solar panel. I wish to have a good size one and a 16"radiator fan seems like a good fit.

If I buy one like that - can I just connect it directly to a panel?

similar to how this guy did it maybe?

He didn't explain much about how he did it in the video. The fan has to be a DC fan unless the solar panel has a micro inverter so it makes AC. Beyond that, the fan has to be the same voltage as the panel, and the panel has to produce the right wattage. I guess. But of you want the fan at night you need battery, charge controller, and inverter.
