I had seen a post mentioning converting halogen bulbs to LED bulbs. I had a basic idea on how to proceed, but later stumbled across this web page http://www.instructables.com/technology/leds/?&sort=FEATURED&offset=60
There are actually a lot of LED lighting projucts in these instructables. Have fun and enjoy!

I have been playing with some little led boards bought off ebay. http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m570.l1313&_nkw=G4+24+SMD+LED+RV&_sacat =See-All-Categories simmilar to those,, 2.50 each they are really bright ,, used one on camper porchlight and few more inside.. thinking of use in mare areas of house too.. they really give of a soft white light,, not WHITE WHITE like some led's

Everybody might want to spend some time on the instructables site listed above there are some interesting solar tracking plans there as well. All in all the range of subjects include fun stuff to practical stuff.

since I did those I found a source for GU10 LED bulbs in 12 V DC. To convert the mini can lights now it is a simple trick of swapping out the bulb...
