Have you contacted the utility to see how to get a cost estimate?

Where I am, they charge $21/ft as a base charge to install poles and wire, but any additional work such as tree cutting etc. costs more.

But they have a 50% option, which means you pay half the base cost, and lose rights to the wire. If you pay full cost, the wire belongs to you, so if someone else wants to hook up to it they must pay you. But with the 50% option the wire is the utility's, and others using it deal with them.

My area it would cost 9$ a foot plus 1400.00$ for a transformer. 8600.00 $ total would come to 10.75$ a foot.

Here in northern michigan. $3.50-$5.50 per foot for overhead after the first 600ft at no charge. Direct burial is $5.50 from point A to B. Transfer $$?
