I was planing to build a lean-to type structure, say 6' wide or so, onto the back on my cabin to house my batteries,20# LP tanks, and an on demand lp tank less water heater. But...I need a way to keep them separated so I don't end up blowing myself up.

So, where do you guys store LP tanks and batteries? Separate small out buildings maybe?

I'd like to see what others have done.

Batteries in an enclosure on the back end of the cabin. Next to them in separated enclosures are the charge controller to the left and the inverter to the right.

Propane cylinders (40#) are 40 feet away from the corner where the pipe enters the cabin. Metal walls surround to hide from obvious view.

Batteries in box inside solar shed.
Inverter/controller in same shed. not in box.

LP tanks (100#) outside buildings / connected to black iron.
