Yes, but, wont work with a round with knots in it, which is basically all of mine.

That's a nice trick. It's pretty light wood judging by the way it splits up. But nice you don't have to reset the log everytime you knock a piece off.
i'll give it a go with a bungy cord and get back to youze.

Yep it works good if a light chain that has a hook on one end to adjust to the size of log. Then you need to have two anchor points on either side and tie off chain. This will keep the log upright and then start to chop.

he uses the handle to stop the head hes not hitting very hard so thats easy chopping wood i dont have that kind either i have a lot of small wood that i only split in half
saw a video of a guy that chops wood in a tire that looks ok too

Truecabin It really doesn't matter if it's hard or not it's how wood will stay togather when chopping wood. A tire or chain can be used on hard wood also it still works the same.
