Hello.
We usually get our water through a rain catchment system, but when there's a long dry spell, we find we still like to have a supply of water.
My plan for this "emergency" situation is to run a long piece of poly pipe from our creek to our water tank and pump some water using our emergency gas generator. Here are the specs:
The water has to be pumped a distance of 1200 feet, and it will have to climb 25 feet.
I am thinking that no 12V or solar pump is going to have the muscle to get the water that distance at that incline. But I suspect a 110V AC pump plugged into a generator could do it fairly easily.
My questions:
1. Am I correct in what I've said so far? 2. Given the distance and rise, how powerful a pump do I need? 3. Do you recommend any? 4. For said pump, do I need to get 3/4" pipe or will 1/2" pipe do?
Thanks for any insight.

any 200 $ jet pump ie. 1\2 HP. red lion shallow well , will do the job the 3\4 pipe will double the gallons you can pump in a given time. You will need foot valve and a screen to keep the sand and stones out of the pump
