I been using a modified sine wave inverter for about 7 years. Seems to work OK for TV and lights etc. in our weekend cabin. Recently I decided to expanded the wiring in the cabin to include outside lights, a ceiling fan and all the internal outlets are now live. I even upgraded all my bulbs to LED. Now everything is buzzing and humming...time to upgrade to a pure sine wave inverter.
I'm leaning toward the Xantrex 1000 watt PROwatt SW (true wave).
Any input is appreciated

I have that exact Xantrex inverter, and it's a good one. About .4a draw at idle, clean wave, reliable, good price. The only reason I don't use it anymore is I upgraded to a 24V bank and a 1500W Samlex.

I used an 1100 watt for yrars in the RV, then the small cabin. Great units if you don't need a charger built into the inverter.

Thanks Dillio, creeky and ICC.
Doesn't get any more simple than this. New Xantrex SW inverter, Phocos charge controller and digitial monitor, system shut off key, DC light, surge protector, and 100 amp inline fuse (not in pic). Seven marine batteries (now 7 years old an still working fine). I have about 200 wattscoming in from 4 SP's and tied them with a homemade combiner box.

Magnum 1k inverter. Made in USA, three years warranty, and features that you won't find in other ones. Here is the best price you can find on it - http://www.tacticalwholesalers.com/MAGNUM-MMS1012-1000W-INVERTER_p_93239.html
