Has anyone had any experience with using steam turbines to generate power?

Yes, on two U.S. Navy Warships back in the 80s as a junior Navy officer. One had four 1200 PSI propulsion boilers and the other had two 600 PSI propulsion boilers. Both superheated steam sytems also powered steam generators for electricity.
But, I am sure this information is not what you were looking for. Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I worked at a refinery twenty years ago. They were changing out steam turbine pumps for electric. I always lamented not trying to get one. They were a little bigger than a large dog house. I believe they were rated at 15 hp. They went for scrap iron. I always thought that maybe I could have generated power with firewood, although I guess that is high pressure steam. Probably beyond me.
