I live in a dry cabin in Fairbanks, Alaska. 10 years ago, I created a gravity-fed sink that worked great. I cut a hole in a 10-gallon Rubbermaid container, inserted a spigot, and used a garden hose to attach the spigot to the faucet of a utility sink.

The spigot on the water container didn't leak. I think it had a threaded stem and I put two nuts on the stem: one on either side of the Rubbermaid's wall. The spigot was lightweight nylon, I think.

I moved away and moved back, and the hardware store that had those spigots is closed. I have tried multiple other options, but all of the spigots leak where they pass through the side of the thin plastic tub.

Does anyone have an option for a spigot that would work? A photo or a name of a part would be helpful. The plumbing supply stores in town all look at me like I'm crazy when I ask for suggestions.

Look for a bulkhead fitting. Google. I have used them with many thinwall plastic wall containers. They are available in all standard pipe thread sizes so virtually anything can be connected once the bulkhead fitting is in place.
