Okay, so I have an old "beat up" RV on my ranch that was left there. No idea if the things work, but as I design the new cabin, I was thinking of stripping the stuff out of it, cabinets and all, and installing them in the new cabin.

Now, I know I will be setting up a 250 gallon propane bottle for the new cabin, so.. how hard would it be to install all the RV stuff in the house and make a small kitchen with them? I mean, there is a small microwave, stove, frig, etc..

I do not need/want much in the kitchen, just coffee in the morning ;) I really only care about how to set up lights that do not require a generator running and maybe a fan...so, was was looking at the trailer and thinking, "hrm... that might work".

Any tips on where to get started on learning how to set this up, besides here;)

the stove and sink are from a recycled camper. I also used a camper toilet for the bathroom.

I found it, very nice setup and less space. I really like the 'feel' of that kitchen. I will just need to make sure the ones on the camper work (the propane appears to have been stripped a while back) and then watch, carefully, how I take it apart to ensure it goes back the same way (and with no leaks).

Thanks!

With a propane stove and fridge you'd be set. I've even taken to using a french press for coffee (we had been using a coleman percolator) because its easier to deal with. If the perc was filled a little to much it spit coffee all over the stovetop, had to wait longer, etc. Now we just boil water on the stove and pour over the grounds, couple minutes later we have coffee! I haven't figured out how to post pics or I'd show my kitchen.

Its funny how many people don't realize that tons of non electric or automatic coffee pots exist. I had a friend who had a Mr. Coffee, he bemoaned the fact it had quit working. Being a avid collector of coffee pots of all types I tired to give him a nice Aluminum drip pot from the 40's. I explained all he had to do was to pour some boiling water in the top and he had his coffee.. As things go that was much too much trouble for him an I took my coffee pot back home! Many of those drips are around for a dollar or so at yard sales and junk shops. The one of those I like the best is made by Priscilla Wear Aluminum. It has a handy basket that lifts out with a little handle that makes emptying the ground so easy.
