I just hooked up this $33 foot operated water pump for winter use at our cabin. We use the tan 5gal jugs you see in the pic for winter water. They are frozen when we get here but I always bring one so we have water right away. I was looking for a cheap and simple pump that's easy to winterize. I think it will save us water also. 20250118_111533.jpg

Don't see the pump, just the jug, in the photo.

Oh man, 5 gal jugs! I had to give up on those a good while back, 3gal is plenty now. The pump looks like a good idea so you avoid any more lifting and pouring. Fwiw, our old 'tater chip step-van turned into a homemade 'motorhome' used a small 12v pond pump, worked well (but ya could forget and leave it on; not so with yer foot )

Handy. No valve on that sink?
I can still manage lifting a full jug for gravity feed, but now I have to think about it first. Here’s my favorite jug, 6 gallon. Just for gas.
