can anyone tell me how to install a rv cooktop and how to hook it up? we have 20 lb tanks outside that we run lights and heaters off of and have a old line in for a stove. do we need a regulator to reduce flow? we are working on making the cabin a place we can stay for a couple of weeks at a time and right now we are using a coleman stove with the small tanks and would like to do something more permenent

For reliable multi appliance use it is best to obtain a two stage regulator. The regulator is connected to the portable cylinder with a flexible rubber high pressure line. From there copper is fine. Flared fittings are best and required in some locations (compression fittings not allowed in some places.)

If you are already using appliances/lights off the tank you may have a proper regulator. Any may not. Most appliances like RV cookstoves run a 11" WC. If the appliance uses one of those adapter like regs that permit the use of a 20# or larger cylinder in place of the small disposable cylinders that may be a high pressure reg and the RV stove won't work.
