Im thinking that my two lfp's on the use pattern we are in will likely outlive me, or at least outlive my 'need for them'. The thing Im wondering is what am I going to replace my gas generator with when they can no longer be sold and gas is $30/gal.

Add this to your new cabin wiring.

Quoting: Steve_S I have a paired Meanwell setup
I have a pair also, still running 12v though. Set them both at 13.8 today, they were almost a volt over.
Then onto the Epever Tracer charge controller. I’m a bit lost with all these parameters. The bulk at least I can lower. IMG_1992.jpeg

I'm sorry Paul but I am not familiar with that SCC or how to set it up. Its all finickety between every make & model... Maybe someday, this stuff will get "standardized" in function & terminology.

No problem Steve, and again I really appreciate the help you have given me. When I bought the Epever they were quite popular at the time, fallen from favor by now perhaps (this forum is my only connection for solar stuff). Probably should have gone with Victron..
I did find some LFP parameters on the Epever website, seem quite high. Also they apparently added an LFP battery setting, not yet available on mine. The good news is the BMS in the Valance batteries has probably saved them from any damage.
I agree, the function and terminology standarization would be a big help.. https://www.epever.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Tracer-AN50-100A-Manual-EN-V3.4.pdf

EPEver as far as I know is still considered as "Respectable Value Grade" hardware and generally pretty good for simpler systems. I looked at the instructions, it shows hot to setup, although I believe in your case you will have to use the USER defined battery params... don't bother with the preset default types. IF YOU MUST, GEL is a closer profile actually but still not right.
I looked through the whole manual and sadly I do not see ANY method to update / flash the firmware. Not surprising but unfortunate. They do have some PC Software which may make it easier to configure and "maybe" it can update the firmware... probably a different manual.
Their downloads are here: https://www.epever.com/support/softwares/
PAUL, I went with Midnite Solar @ a Grand a POP, they are wonderful SCC's BUT a PITA for integration with everything else. If I was doing it all over today, Victron all the way and Never an AIO to be seen here... Ohhh well, I started my path before Victron was available here so, "Ces't la vie".

Idk....but will throw this atcha: The dif manufacturers use dif terms I think EPEver uses Boost where others use Bulk? As per my Meanwell setting Id go with 13.8v Boost. The Boost Time I didnt expect; 180min/3hrs may be limiting your charging on a good solar production day? Yet you have been keeping up with your daily usage/recharging the next day ok, right? Wonder if you upped the time to 240min/4hrs if you would get a better recharge daily? Since you dont want to Float an lfp maybe set it at 13.0? It shouldnt really run at all there and if it does no harm. NO Equalize; if you cant turn it off at least make it low, like maybe 13.3 where lfp tends to settle? I see you have it set to Equalize Time -0- already, thats good, so no matter what it is set at it shouldnt get run time. The High discon Id like to make just under what the bat bms is at and the Low discon just above; that should keep from working either discon in the bms (the more they work the more prone to failure I would think). Fwiw, my inverter under load at the bottom knee pulls the bat down enough to trip the bms. I really need to stop using (typically the tv/vcr and/or the ceiling fan) at 12.9v because there arent a lot of ahs left for that heavyish draw. If I stop the heavy load there is quite a bit left for led lights though. We just hook up my 'jump pack' porta-power to finish a movie, let the big lfp 'recover some' and use it for lights again. I know we've run lights for another 3 nights that way before swapping the lfp's out and bringing the low one home to charge.

Quoting: gcrank1 I do get higher amps charging at a higher set point but I
Yeah since I dropped my Meanwells (I have both connected and a jumper wire between them that does some kind of ‘sharing’) from 14.6 to 13.8, it’s dropped the amps going into the bank about in half, from 80 to 40.
