Hello. Long time listener, first time caller. have direct vent propane heater in small cabin. It is a year old and seems to work fine for the most part. Sometimes it is quiet other than metal heating up noises. Which I consider normal. Then out of nowhere you can hear flame noises for a while then back to quiet. I have no previous experience with this type of heater. Is this normal? Thanks for any thoughts

What did the manufacturer's customer service say when you called them?

sounds normal, as it fires up you hear it more, when it reaches the temp you set it goes back to pilot light until temp drops and repeats.

They thought it was most likely wind affecting the airflow of heater and said it was normal. Which does make sense to me. Just thought someone else might have some real world experience. Of course I am going to monitor it closer next time it happens in relation to wind.
