I now have internet at my off grid cabin and would like to know the status of my batteries and solar panel output remotely. Not Bluetooth, as I want to be able to monitor from home. Does anyone have any experience, advise or recommendations on products or systems available? Thanks

what charge controller do you use presently? Most major makers have charge controllers and/or system components that allow for wi-fi monitoring and adjusting. Outback does if one buys their Mate3 hub. Victron has units that are wi-fi compatible too.

It's a SolarMate, MPPT. Had it for years, no available ports, IE USB, RS 232, or RJ 45.

How do you monitor it when there? If you have a display of some sort you could point a wifi camera at it.

That's just what I was thinking this weekend. I have one of these (picture) and a Xantrex Monitor the camera would also be an addition to the security systems. Thanks

If your not there do you really even need to have anything drawing from the battery?
When I leave the inverter is shut down and every time I come back the batteries are full..even after 5months of winter and and feet of snow.

I don't have one but I understand there are cameras you can pan around the room remotely.

We just arrived back in AZ for a few days to check on things here.... since we now have 24/7 Starlink wifi at the cabin we put up a solar powered camera so no matter where we are we can check on the cabin. It pans, tilts and zooms. It will alert us if anyone/thing gets into its line of sight. Got an alert at 7:20 this morning... saw a fawn walking by! Here is a still taken a bit ago.

Soliom+ S600. It is an outdoor camera... there are indoor cameras with pan, tilt and zoom as well.
THIS IS MINE Neighbors have had one of these up for several months now...actually in partial shade... and they recommended it. I just put it up so no long term experience with it. I will say pairing it was super easy and the app interface is great.
