Hello all,
I am installing a new submersible water pump into the lake and i was wondering what to do for the stand and a sleeve?
I was going to make a abs stand with 4 legs and the center with a 6" sleeve and set the pump inside of it and perforate the sleeve.
Are sleeves a good idea to keep the pump motor cool?
What are our thoughts/ideas? Pics?

Placement of the pump inside of the sleeve doesn't cause a restriction?

The stand and sleeve serves two functions, it keeps the pump off the bottom and prevents it from sucking in debris and it forces the water to flow past the motor keeping it cool. The sleeve is acting the same way a 4†well casing would and won’t restrict flow at all.

Here's what we came up with:
4" ABS, tee, and cap for main body.
3" ABS tee and front stabilizer leg. The 3" ABS tee fits snugly inside the 4" ABS branch coming down from the tee, so no adapter was necessary.
4"-3" rubber boot adapter - clamps tightly around nose of pump, and around outside of 4" ABS.
1-1/2" ABS water inlet draws water from top of stand, allowing all pump flow to be pulled passed the motor first for cooling.
Pump is a 1/2 hp Berkeley 115V 2-wire.
The setup seems very stable. I was thinking of filling the horizontal 'feet' with concrete, but I don't think it's necessary. We'll lower it down into the lake, 10-15 ft depth, with a retrieval rope and float for future retrieval if needed.

RPE, stand is nice engineering. Concrete in tube is a good idea. Check out these videos. This guy shares many good details.

Is the 1-1/2" inlet connected to the line that feeds water to the house?
Also, did you drill holes in the pump sleeve (4" pipe) for the water to draw in?
